Maple Story PC Game Review

Maple Story is very similar to any other online RPG. You have to level up your character by going on quests and fighting monsters. As you level up, new quests are available based on your level. Some quests require a party, while others require a specific item.

US Maple Story World

The Maply Story world is divided into all the regions you would expect like mountains, ice, fire, sand, and grass. There are cities and plenty of dungeons. You start out with a character and one class which can be your basic fighter, magic user, archer, or thief. As you progress, you can change classes. Maple Story actually allows you to enter other Maple Worlds and transfer characters from one world to another, with some restrictions like money.

Maple Story Guilds

You can join guilds to find other characters for your party. You can also chat using the ingame engine. Chatting does fill up the screen, but it's required for some quests. There are also events and online marriages.

Maple Story Minigames

Maple Story has some minigames, and you can play these games with other members of your party. They present a great distraction should you get tired of the combat. The minigames include fishing, Pachinko, and a card game.

Maple Story PC Game Review

The main emphasis of the game is combat. The monsters are very diverse, with the bosses being some of the most creative in 2D gaming. You'll encounter some very weird and powerful bosses in Maple Story that require a great deal of power and teamwork to defeat.

Maple Story Shop

The economy uses real world money. You use it to buy stuff for your character including weapons, clothing, and pets. Most of these items eventually wear out or die. You can also sell your character if you so chose. There's also ingame currency called mesos. You cannot trade ingame curreny.

Maple Story

In terms of graphics, the game is extremely colorful. The characters are a little lacking in detail, but the huge number of items you can buy for your character makes up for it. The backgrounds and monsters is where Maple Story shines. It's also got great music.

Maple Story is a very addictive game thanks to the level up phenomenon that usually sweeps these types of online RPGs. But is it good? If you like anime and colorful graphics, then yes. But if not, this game is not for you. The gameplay is very repetitive even with the diverse bosses. Maple Story can be downloaded for free from the publisher site here.
